Action-movie star Steven Seagal is considering a run for Governor of Arizona.
The "Under Siege" actor says he's thinking about running for the state's highest office and he even discussed it with Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
The 61-year-old actor has partnered up with Arpaio as part of his reality show, "Steven Seagal -Lawman: Maricopa County" where the martial arts expert is a member of Arpaio's 3,000-strong civilian posse.
"Joe Arpaio and I were talking about me running for Governor. I suppose I would remotely consider it, but probably I would have a lot more other responsibilities that are maybe more important to address," Seagal said. "Police officers, the real ones, are a unique breed, the real ones would save lives if they had to at the drop of hat for people that they didn't even know, for a stranger, so they are my family."
Seagal who has also been deputized with sheriff's offices in Texas, Louisiana and New Mexico says he wants to increase border security.
If the actor is elected in office, he would join a list of other actors turned politicians including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Ronald Reagan, Sonny Bono, and Jesse Ventura.
