CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

If you're looking for a fun and unique way to stay inside and avoid the cold, what better way to do it than with a zombie? Good Day Chicago dares you to try "Trapped in a Room with a Zombie!"

In one of Chicago's newest attractions, a local company is taking the old "Murder Mystery Theater" concept and taking a unique bite out of it. Will you survive to tell the tale?

Room Escape Adventures' "Trapped in a Room with a Zombie," located in the fine arts building on Michigan Avenue, up six floors in a man-operated elevator, inside office 612, down a narrow, sound-proof hallway, there is a room. Inside that room, is a zombie.

The new attraction is one of Chicago's hilariously sick twists on the popular "Murder Mystery Theater" concept. The rules are simple: 12 people are locked in a room for 60 minutes with a zombie, who is chained to the wall.

Use clues from around the room to help you figure out where the key to the door is. But beware! Every five minutes, you hear a terrifying sound, which alerts you to the fact that the zombie's chain just got a foot longer. Avoid the undead at all costs and find the key in under an hour - or prepare to be eaten!

"Trapped in a Room with a Zombie" executive producer and zombie performer Maren Rosenberg says that the challenge takes a unique way of thinking. With only a 34% escape rate, the show has seen an entire group of brain surgeons fail, and a group of 12-year-olds escape.

While they just started in December, "Trapped in a Room with a Zombie" has found massive success. They've been selling out every night - even being forced to turn people away at the door - which Rosenberg attributes to pop culture's new found obsession with zombies.

While it's all fun and games, they have had to install sound-prevention walls to keep the screams at a minimum. Rosenberg takes the extreme volume as the ultimate compliment. The more real the guests' terror, the better performance her company is putting on.

For now, the show goes on, the clock keeps ticking and the chain is getting longer. Whatever you do, you better hurry!
