Posted: Updated:

DETROIT (WJBK) -- A violent carjacking is caught on camera in northwest Detroit.

Two men attacked a motorist at the Mobil gas station on the corner of McNichols and Telegraph on the evening of Dec. 30, police say. One of the suspects punched the man in the head, threw him down and stomped on his head.

Detroit Police Sgt. Michael Woody says the victim suffered minor injuries.

The suspects drove off in the car and remain on the loose. The suspects faces were caught on camera inside the gas station just minutes before the attack took place.

The vehicle's license plate is CPC 4930. Police have not found the car or the suspects, but they're hoping a $2,000 reward from the Help Eliminate Auto Theft (HEAT) tipline will help lead to an arrest.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detroit police or HEAT at 1-800-242-HEAT. You will remain anonymous.
