Two Dead, Five Burned In Santa Ana House Fire

Santa Ana, CA -

(FOX 11 / CNS) Two people died in Santa Ana today in a house fire that left five other people burned, two critically, authorities said.

The fire in the 2100 block of North Hathaway Street was reported at 5:30a.m., said Capt. Steve Concialdi of the Orange County Fire Authority. The flames were extinguished in about an hour.

Firefighters rescued two people who suffered critical burns, Concialdi said. Three other people suffered minor burns, he said.

Two people who had been burned died inside the building, Concialdi said. They lived in the home, he said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
