Real Housewives Of The OC Workout: CUT Fitness

Posted: Updated:

Our Co-Host Heather Dubrow had some friendly comptetion today when her friend Tamra Judge and husband Eddie came in to show off a snapshot of a very popular and effective HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) workout called GRIT, currently featured at Tamra & Eddie's CUT Fitness studio.

Fitting in a workout can be almost impossible. With the HIIT class, you experience to most solid, effective, and safe training in a 30 minute window.

It is proven that if you work in your red zone or 80% of your max multiple times within this 30 minute window you become stronger, quicker, and more powerful in every aspect of your fitness. This class is designed to give you radical results in a short time, but what is so unique is that the results last. They set the foundation to keep you fit and change the way you burn calories.

Three different exercises for 30 seconds a piece with a 15 second break in between each exercise. Our goal will be to show what working in the 80% of your max looks and feels like.

The first exercise will be a clean to a front squat. Using a bar we will clean the bar up to the chest, drop down into a full squat, then release back to set or beginning position. In the thirty seconds, we will see how many everyone can crank out...a friendly competition.

The second exercise will be a plyometric push up. On the floor in a push up position, we will have you drop down into a push up then explode off the floor as you move to the top of the push up simultaneously moving side to side. No worries, we have tons of options as all of our classes are to fit every fitness level! Again, we will see how many we can do in the 30 seconds.

The third move will be a modified Burpee tuck Jump. You will drop into a squat, put your hands on the floor, jump your legs back into plank, jump legs back under shoulders, stand up and jump knees to chest. Crank it for 30 seconds.
