Police ID man shot after firing shotgun at apartment complex

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -

A man firing off a shotgun into the air at a Scottsdale apartment complex was shot at by three officers on Sunday night.

Police say 35-year-old Anthony Mascarino got into an argument with a family member at an apartment complex near Thomas and Hayden.

Mascarino allegedly fired his shotgun inside the unit then went outside and continued to fire the shotgun into the air.

When officers arrived, they say Mascarino pointed his shotgun at them, which prompted three officers to fire at him; he was struck at least once.

The suspect was taken to Scottsdale Osborn and pronounced dead at 8:15pm.

No officers or bystanders were injured.
