Florida man accused of molesting Peachtree City girl he met online

PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. -

Peachtree City police have arrested a man they say traveled from Florida and molested a 13-year-old girl he met online.

Authorities said Joseph Lundstrom knew the girl he had met through social media sites was underage. Police say Lundstrom came from Middleburg, Fla., and met with the middle school student over the weekend.

"These two met over the weekend on two separate occasions where sexual contact was initiated," said Lt. Mark Brown of the Peachtree City Police Department.

After police became involved, a third meeting was set up between Lundstrom and the girl. This time the police were there to take him into custody.

Police say, among other things, parents should be concerned if their children are spending a large amount of time online.  Also, if they receive calls from or to numbers the parents don't recognize.  Parents should also monitor both computers and smartphone activity.

"The technology in the smartphones has just made it even worse," Brown said. T"hey can do everything they can from a smartphone it's not necessarily from a computer in their family room."

Lundstrom is being held at the Fayette County Jail without bond.
