1 Person Dead In Center City High-Rise Fire

Firefighters were at the scene of a high-rise fire in Center City Philadelphia where officials say a 60-year-old man has died.

The fire was reported at 201 South 13th Street, near Chestnut Street, and officials tell FOX 29 News there was smoke on the 10th floor of the building.

We're told firefighters declared the one-alarm situation a "major incident" to get more equipment to the scene.

Officials say the man was taken to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital for an injury where he was later pronounced dead.

Fire Officials say the man suffered from smoke inhalation as well as a heart attack.
