Creating a safe and comfortable vehicle for those with physical limitations can be challenging. Fox 2's Deena Centofanti visits the North American International Auto Show to check out Ford's safety suit, which helps designers create cars.

When you put it on the suit makes you feel 30 years older. The suit includes a weighted vest that rings in at about 20 pounds, gloves that block your sense of touch and a vibrating ball that simulates tremors.

The suit helps Ford designers understand not just what it's like to struggle getting in and out of the vehicle, but also how important interior features are.

"Button size is really a prime example. Young designers come in and they think that smaller buttons look cleaner and sleeker and more like technology. However, as you age it becomes harder to see those buttons, not only just the size of the font that might be on there, but actually operate the size of the buttons. So, a bigger button is easier to push," explains Ford's Cary Diehl.

In addition to age suit, Ford engineers are encouraged to try on the empathy belly, another tool which helps create safer and more comfortable vehicles.
