CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

One person is dead and at least four others injured in shootings on Wednesday.

A man was found shot dead Wednesday afternoon in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

While responding to a call of shots fired, officers found 21-year-old Jonathan Johnson in a hallway with a gunshot wound to the abdomen in the 6900 block of South Racine Avenue about 1:30 p.m., authorities said.

Johnson, who lived in the building where he was found, was pronounced dead at 1:34 p.m., according to the medical examiner's office.

The most recent non-fatal shooting happened Wednesday evening in the North Side Logan Square neighborhood, when a man was critically injured during a carjacking.

The 49-year-old man was sitting in his beige 1999 Chevy Tahoe in the 2000 block of North Richmond Street about 8 p.m. when two men – one carrying a handgun — walked up and ordered the man out of the SUV, police said.

The gunman then shot him in the chest and thigh before the two got into the SUV and drove off, police said.

The 49-year-old was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he is listed in critical condition, police said.

Police said the alleged carjackers were two Hispanic men, and that the stolen SUV's license plate number is K489983.

No one is in custody as Area North detectives investigate. Anyone with information is asked to call (312) 744-8200.

Less than an hour before that, two more men were shot in Logan Square.

The men, 19 and 20, were in the 3700 block of West Schubert Avenue around 7:15 p.m. when someone in a car pulled up and fired shots, police said. The 19-year-old was struck in his upper left arm, while the 20-year-old was shot in his left shoulder.

Both were transported to Norweigan-American Hospital, where they were both in good condition, Sullivan said.

A teenage boy was hurt Wednesday afternoon in the South Side South Shore neighborhood.

About 3:30 p.m., the 17-year-old boy was walking in an alley with a friend in the 2000 block of East 75th Street when someone in a white vehicle pulled up and fired shots, police said.

The boy was shot in the hip and was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he is in serious but "stable" condition, police said.

No one is in custody for any of the shootings as area detectives investigate.
