Sprinkles in Southern California, but Won't Ease Drought

Areas of Southern California are getting hit with some sprinkles today, but not enough to ease near-record drought conditions.

National Weather Service meteorologist David Sweet said the isolated sprinkles from Oxnard to the South Bay on Sunday will only total a few hundredths of an inch.

More rain will hit the state later this week and bring about a quarter-inch of rainfall.

Gov. Jerry Brown declared a formal drought earlier this month, saying it was the driest it's been in California in perhaps a century.

Ranchers are selling cattle, farmers are letting some fields go fallow and some cities are running short of water.
