CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

The bed bug problem in the Chicago area is getting so bad it's now leading to a lawsuit.

A woman was forced to cut her dreadlocks after encountering bedbugs at a hotel in Palatine.

Donna Brumfield, an assistant tennis coach at Homewood Flossmoor High School, checked into a Holiday Inn Express for a tennis meet in October 2012.

Brumfield filed a lawsuit Tuesday in Cook County Circuit Court.

She was forced to chop off her waist-length dreadlocks that she had grown for 13 years.

Chicago has been named first in bedbug infestations for the second year in a row.
