(FOX 11/ CNS) - An Irvine man was identified by the Orange County coroner's office today as the person killed in a four-vehicle crash that injured five others and shut down Pacific Coast Highway in Laguna Beach.

The victim was identified as 29-year-old Erik Valencia, of Irvine. The coroner's press release on the Orange County Sheriff's website says Valencia "was a passenger in an out-of-control auto versus truck accident."

The crash happened at about 1:30 p.m. on Sunday on Pacific Coast Highway around Irvine Cove Drive, according to a police press release.

Laguna Beach police Sgt. Eric Lee said the five survivors were hospitalized with injuries ranging from minor to severe.

PCH was closed in both directions. It was fully reopened at 11:10 p.m., Lee said.
