(WJBK) - Former Michigan Kicker Brendan Gibbons has been "permanently separated" from the University of Michigan according to Tuesday's Michigan Daily, the student run Newspaper. The action came after Gibbons was found to have violated the University's Student Sexual Misconduct Policy.

According to the article, Gibbons was notified of the decision in a letter dated December 19, 2013, with an effective date of December 20, 2013.

Gibbons was the Wolverines starting kicker this year before missing the final regular season game against Ohio State because of an injury in the week leading up to the contest.

He didn't travel with the team to their bowl game in Arizona. U of M Head Coach Brady Hoke said on December 23rd he was dealing with a family matter.

According to the timeline in the Michigan Daily's story, Gibbons would have already have been ineligible based on the action taken by the Office of Student Conflict Resolution.
