CHANDLER, Ariz. -

There are new details about a disturbing crime we told you about last week -- a valley woman accused of trying to kill her husband in a hospital by injecting fecal matter into his I-V.

The victim in this case is a 66-year-old man from Sun Lakes who was recovering from heart surgery at Chandler Regional Medical Center.

Police say a nurse found the man's wife holding his I-V bag and that it had a brown substance in it.  That's when the head of the hospital's security called 911.

65-year-old Rosemary Vogel is accused of injecting fecal matter into her husband's I-V line as he was recovering from surgery.

Now we're hearing the 911 call as the security chief called Chandler Police dispatch to report the disturbing crime.

Caller: "We have a situation here where.. how do I explain this.."

The security chief sounds almost in disbelief about the sick crime he is reporting after a brown substance was found in the victim's saline solution I-V line.

Caller: "It's in the line.  It's in the IV line to make it quit working."

Operator: "What I guess I'm trying to say is they injected something into the line. But do we know what that something is?"

Caller: "Yep."

Operator: "What is it?"

Caller: "Fecal matter."

Operator: "Pardon me?"

Caller: "Fecal matter."

Operator: "Okay."

Caller: "Yeah, it's a substance that you can't get unless you inject it into there.  Somebody has done that."

Police say they found three syringes in Vogel's purse and one had traces of fecal matter.  She is being charged with attempted murder.

Police say Vogel's husband is expected to survive.  They have not yet released a motive in this case.
