Madison Heights Police are looking for a cigarette thief who has struck a donut shop twice.

Surveillance video from the a hit on February 5 shows the man robbing Detroit Donuts, which is part of a gas station at the corner of 12 Mile Road and Stephenson Highway.

The other robbery occurred on January 29.

Police said the thief took only cartons of Marlboro Reds and Newport cigarettes and nothing else.

He is described as white man of average height and build. He was wearing a mask, hat, gloves, blue jeans and an oversized dark blue jacket with a gray hooded sweatshirt underneath.  It's winter in Michigan, so he may be tough to spot.

Police said the thief may have been driving a minivan.

The owner says the thefts cost him about $1500 between the merchandise lost and the repairs needed to fix the broken glass caused by the thief as he forced his way into the store.

Play the video to hear the shop owners point of view in Erika Erickson's full report.  There's a second video in the player take from a surveillance camera.
