(FOX 11CNS) - A professional skateboarder and punk rock singer nicknamed "The Master of Disaster" was charged today with assaulting his girlfriend at their Long Beach home.

Duane Thomas Peters, 52, is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday on one felony count of willful infliction of corporal injury, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.

Neighbors intervened after hearing a commotion shortly before midnight Friday and restrained Peters until police arrived. The woman suffered some injuries to her body, according to the District Attorney's Office.

Peters is jailed in lieu of $50,000 bail. If convicted as charged, he could face up to four years in state prison, according to the District Attorney's Office.

Along with his skateboarding career, in which he's known as a pioneer of innovative skateboard tricks, Peters was the lead singer of the punk rock band U.S. Bombs, formed in 1993. In 2000, he formed a new band, Duane Peters and the Hunns, later changed to Die Hunns.
