Touching Video Asks For Donations For Syrian Children

Posted: Updated:

A touching video out of Norway is making its rounds on the Internet. In less than two days, it has already been viewed nearly 6,000,000 times!

So what would you do if you saw a freezing child? The video shows real life reactions from a social experiment.

In the video, a little boy named Johannes is sitting alone in the cold at a bus stop in Oslo without a coat. It wasn't long before strangers starting talking to the 11-year-old actor, giving him their gloves, scarves and even their coats.

When they asked him why he is alone, he says he got separated on a class field trip. One woman even offered to call his teacher to come get him.

Norwegian charity S-O-S Children's Villages set this up to test people's compassion and raise money for Syrian children.

"Children in Syria are freezing and you can help by dontating. [sic] For more information: www.sos-barnebyer.no/Mayday/Syria" the video description writes.

Most viewers were very touched by the video. Julia MacBarbie wrote, "this gives me hope in humanity." Joel Alves wrote, "It made my day felt [sic] good." "Faith in humanity restored," wrote Victor Rosa.

However, a few people questioned whether such a touching video would have been created if a different child actor was used.

"Now, Imagine if he was black, overweight, and didn't fit the part of the shivering cute kid!" wrote user fmnma1. Similarly, user V3rciS wrote, "Hypocrisy, put a homeless 'dirty' immigrant child and then we'll see how 'KIND' people are."
