Cubs sell naming rights of Mesa complex to Under Armour

TheChicago Cubs and Under Armour today announced a multi-year namingrights agreement for the Under Armour Performance Center at new Cubs Park inMesa, Arizona. Under Armour has extended their existing multi-year partnershipto become the third Legacy Partner of the Chicago Cubs, joining Anheuser-Buschand Starwood Hotels. Under Armour has been a partner of the Cubs organizationsince 2007.

The new Under Armour PerformanceCenter features the largest and most advanced strength and conditioning spacein the Cactus League. Players have year-round access to a two-story weight andcardiovascular facility with elite training equipment, a hydrotherapy room,120-seat theater, video room and cafeteria. The Major League clubhouse featuresan oval-shaped locker room with 68 lockers and a lounge area, while the MinorLeague clubhouse features 206 lockers to accommodate players trainingyear-round.

"The Under Armour PerformanceCenter gives our players the opportunity to train in a strength andconditioning facility that rivals any in baseball," said Cubs Executive VicePresident and General Manager Jed Hoyer. "We're thankful to partners like UnderArmour who help us bring this vision to life."

In addition to the team'spartnership with Under Armour, more than 10 Major and Minor League Cubs playersrepresent the Under Armour brand individually, practicing and competing in thebrand's innovative performance footwear, apparel and accessories. The partnershipextension also continues Under Armour's advertising rights to outfield signagein Wrigley Field, the second-oldest ballpark in the country. The historicballpark is the site of the annual Under Armour All-America Baseball Gamefeaturing the top high school baseball players from around the world.
