NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Philip Seymour Hoffman died of a massive overdose of several drugs, according to New York City's medical examiner.

Hoffman died from "[a]cute mixed drug intoxication, including heroin, cocaine, benzodiazepines, amphetamine," according to a statement from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner release Friday afternoon.

Benzodiazepines are sedatives sometimes used to treat anxiety. Amphetamine is a stimulant often used to treat ADHD.

The M.E. has ruled his death an accident.

Hoffman, an Academy Award winner for the film "Capote," was found dead in his apartment in the West Village on February 2, 2014. Police said a hypodermic needle was in his arm.

He left behind three children and his estranged girlfriend who was the kids' mother.

    The NYPD says several structures in Central Park were damaged by vandals over the weekend. A gazebo at Wagner Cove near park lake was pushed off its foundation. A handrail at the Bow Bridge boating landing was broken and a bench was thrown in the water nearby. Vandals also threw a rock through the window of a kiosk near West 72nd St. Among other damage, irrigation hoses were torn up at Strawberry Fields and trash cans were toppled near Central Park West.
