Navy F/A-18 jet crashes in Nevada desert

FALLON, Nev. (KSAZ) - The U.S. Navy reported Saturday evening that a F/A-18C Hornet fighter has crashed approximately 70 miles east of Naval Air Station Fallon.

Navy officials said that the jet was assigned to the Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center at Fallon, Nevada. The crash happened after 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

Personnel were traveling to the scene, the status of the pilot is not being released.
