'50 Shades! The Musical'

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

"Fifty Shades of Grey" became a phenomenon that no one could have seen coming. When the books came out, people either mocked the S&M series or loved it for spicing up their love lives. Whatever your stance, it became universally clear that "Fifty Shades" was ripe for a parody.

Six writers turned the three E.L. James books into a seven-person ensemble show called "50 Shades! The Musical" and it stays true to the original text by keeping things racy. You'll see handcuffs and whips and riding crops but with a lot of comedy mixed in, too.

"There's a lot of language in the show, so it's not for children," says Amber Petty, who plays Anastasia. "And then there's like hot fellas with their shirts off but other than that it's a lot of silly things. Anything that's sexual is very heightened and silly."

Speaking of hot fellas with their shirts off, we took a moment to admire some.

Don't worry; you can follow along even if you've never read the books. The show is tied together by a ladies' book club living vicariously through Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey's saucy love story. And the music is quite telling, too, with a few titles that are double-entendres.

You may be wondering why we aren't showing you the dreamy Christian Grey. That's because it's top secret.

Six people were indicted Wednesday in an international ring that managed to take over more than 1,000 StubHub users' accounts and fraudulently buy tickets to such prime events as Jay-Z and Elton John concerts, a New York Yankees-Boston Red Sox game and Broadway shows like "The Book of Mormon," the Manhattan district attorney said. Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr. said the thieves would then resell the tickets and split up the proceeds.
