A Senate bill introduced in the Georgia legislature that could financially help pharmacists and pharmacy owners is raising questions about conflict of interest.
The reason: the bill was authored by a pharmacist who owns three pharmacies.
Senior I-Team reporter Dale Russell has studied the bill and says it has flown under the radar throughout the session.
It is a low profile, complicated bill, that deals with reimbursement rates paid to pharmacists.
But the author is high profile - 1st District Congressional Candidate Senator Buddy Carter.
Senator Carter says he introduced Senate Bill 408 late, the 27th day of the session, after a similar bill stalled in the house.
His bill didn't make it either.
He says he is not giving up. He is still looking to see if it can be attached to another bill.
