Minneapolis bars could stay open until 4 a.m. for MLB All-Star Game

MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -

Bars in Hennepin County could stay open until 4 a.m. during the MLB All-Star Game if Minnesota legislators pass a temporary exception to state law.

Currently, bars in Minnesota can stay open until 2 a.m., but many cities have a 1 a.m. closing time.

The extended hours would give an extra two hours of business to Minneapolis bars expected a flood of baseball fans when Target Field hosts the Midsummer Classic this July.

The proposal is first going before a Minnesota House panel.
