The Oakland County Sheriff's Office is teaming up with the Detroit Pistons and Palace Sports and Entertainment to offer a special women's self-defense training class on the Palace court prior to the Pistons game on Saturday, March 15.

Registration costs $20 and includes self-defense training, a ticket to the Pistons game, a post-game shot on the Palace court and a special Pistons giveaway.

The training will be instructed by Sgt. Jen Miles of the Oakland County Sheriff's Office. Miles is a trained and certified instructor of the Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) system from which she will draw techniques for the training.

A limited number of tickets are still available.

Females wishing to attend the class should wear comfortable athletic clothing and closed-toe tennis shoes. Sandals are not permitted. Women ages 18 and older are eligible to participate, along with those 14 and up who have written permission.
