(WJBK) -

Two people have been charged in connection with a sexual assault that occurred at the Jason Manor Apartments in Detroit just hours before the building was destroyed by a fire.

Carlos Love, 21, and Dantraz Oliver-McClung, 19, are each charged with three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and five counts of assault with intent to commit penetration.

Investigators believe the sexual assault and the fire that happened on March 5 are connected. Police are still working to find the arsonist.

The fire destroyed the apartment building and left dozens homeless.
