A Cartersville woman was attacked by a pit bull. Linda Marie Dunton said she was bitten 50 times. The attack was so vicious, she actually lost a tooth.
Dunton has puncture wounds all over her face and body. Now Dunton wants to know why the dog that attacked her has not be put down.
Dunton said she was walking her dog Scotty when the attack happened. FOX 5 has obtained copies of the Bartow County police report from February 17, which said the dog was running loose.
But on March 12, Animal Control reversed its findings.
The final ruling states that the strip of land where the attack occurred was actually the owner's property. So the dog can't be considered dangerous or vicious under Bartow County code.
Cole Law is Dunton's attorney. He said the attack was nowhere near the boundaries of the dog's yard. Law says he wants to see the county change its decision and force the owners to put up a fence.
