Drunk driver slams into Roseville police cruiser

Posted: Updated:

ROSEVILLE, Mich. (WJBK) -- Police say a Warren man was drunk when he slammed his vehicle into the side of Roseville police cruiser early Friday morning.

Chief James Berlin says 22-year-old Sean Robinson drove into the side of the cruiser outside the National Coney Island on 12 Mile Road and Groesbeck around 3 a.m.

Berlin says Robinson was visibly inebriated and claimed the officer must have been in his blind spot causing the crash.

Robinson was arrested for operating while impaired and causing a crash while impaired, both 90-day misdemeanors.

He registered his breath alcohol at .17, twice the legal limit.
