PHOENIX (KSAZ) -

Police are investigating a home invasion that took place Monday night in the area of 32nd Street and Thomas Road.

Authorities say two men forced their way into the house and demanded drugs.  One of the suspects pistol whipped one person inside, while the second suspect searched the home.

As the suspects were leaving the scene, one went out the front door, the other through the back door.  That's when officers believe the homeowner opened fire.

No one was hit in the gunfire.

Police say the victim's injuries are not life-threatening.

Both suspects, who have not been identified, took off from the scene and have not been found.

Police say the first suspect who struck the victim with a handgun is described as a black male. The second suspect who took another victim inside the home to search the residence is described as a white male.
