The Parkview High School student hit by a car near the school last week has died.

Gwinnett County police say 16-year-old Jonathan Porter died over the weekend after being in critical condition for almost a week.

The incident happened at the intersection of Five Forks Trickum Road and Cole Drive after authorities say Porter darted out into the roadway, attempting to cross the road.

Medics transported the student to Gwinnett County Medical Center where he died over the weekend.
