ENGLEWOOD, N.J. (AP) - A northern New Jersey town has established a buffer zone to prevent protesters from getting too close to an abortion clinic and other health care facilities.

Englewood's City Council on Tuesday voted unanimously to establish an 8-foot radius around a health care facility's entrance or driveway. Violators could face fines or up to 90 days in jail.

The measure was crafted, in part, to address protests outside the Metropolitan Medical Associates abortion clinic. Police said there have been reports of people being shoved or bumped.

Acting state National Organization for Women president Deb Huber tells The Record newspaper the buffer zone is a good first step.

But Edward Gilhooly of the Legal Center for Defense of Life in Morristown is threatening to challenge the ordinance in court.

For decades, making some quick cash was the main drive behind so many who took the ride down the parkway to Atlantic City. But with so much to choose from nowadays, it looks like Atlantic City is in a lot of trouble.
