TINLEY PARK, Ill. (FOX 32 News) -

More than a thousand people have signed an online petition to save a pit bull that bit two veterinarian technicians in Tinley Park.

In a YouTube clip a man's voice can be heard, "Can you take it nice? Aw, thank you. So nice."

The foster owners of the 7-year-old pit bull "Buddy" have started an online petition to save his life after he attacked two vet technicians.

The owners did not return our request for comment, but according to their petition, said he's a good dog.

They wrote, "despite all he has been through, he is still happy, polite and listens very well. All he needs is a tennis ball and a few treats and he is happy."

However, it is a different story from the women on the receiving end of the dogs attack.

"Ten to 15 seconds later he jumped up from laying down and was attached to my face," said technician Rebecca Britz.

Britz said she was bitten on the face and arms after she checked "Buddy's" sutures.

"This is the worst bite in 19 years of practicing," said Dr. Cynthia Cecott, the veterinarian.

The veterinarian and the technician removed the dog from the room where the owner was and did the rabies exam in a less confined space. They eventually took the muzzle off after the exam.

That's when the dog lunged at Goolsby.

"He came full force again. I felt him coming at my face. All I remember is doing this, ok and he got me here and he was hanging on here," Goolsby added.

The victims are concerned because they feel the dog was not provoked.

"It's about the danger that this animal had potential to do to us, so what could they do to somebody else or a small child. That's my biggest concern," said Britz.

Cook County Animal Control said a "vicious dog" hearing will take place at a future date.

A judge will determine what will happen to the dog.
