Judge McCree booted from the bench

Posted: Updated:
WJBK - Judge Wade McCree has been stripped of his job.

He's been removed from office and won't be able to sit on the bench again for at least six years, the Michigan Supreme Court has ruled.

The former Wayne County Circuit Court judge was suspended without pay last year for having a sexual relationship with a woman whose child support case he was hearing.

McCree has admitted to the affair. Their encounters even occurred inside his Detroit courthouse office.

"I knew this day was coming the minute he testified on his own behalf and really stuck his foot up his hind end. So, the man didn't take it seriously. He didn't take his position seriously. He didn't take the peck of trouble he was in seriously, and court tossed him - tossed him for a real long time," says Charlie LeDuff.

McCree's bad behavior was first brought to light when LeDuff confronted him about a naked "selfie" he sent to a female court worker.

The court says there's a high likelihood of McCree committing misconduct again. McCree lawyer Brian Einhorn says he hasn't seen the court's opinion but is disappointed by the result.
