Thousands of southside Atlanta homeowners may be in jeopardy when they try to call the fire department.
That's because of a controversy between the city and Fulton county.
Right now, there is a 'communications hole' in the community of Cascade Road and I- 285.
Roughly two thousand residents are impacted. Recent annexations with Atlanta taking in portions of Fulton county have only made the 9-1-1 telecom situation worse.
On a given street you could be a city resident, however, two doors down the neighbor is a Fulton homeowner.
Residents say the lapse in time it takes to connect 911 calls between jurisdictions could make all the difference in the middle of an emergency.
