Abandoned dog needs financial help

CANTON, Ga. -

A dog is being nursed back to health after he was dumped from a car in Canton.

The Rottweiler has to have one of his legs amputated and the people who have stepped up to help Stubby say, his veterinary bills are mounting.

Stubby has a huge personality, says Candace Lee of Bridge Mill Animal Hospital.

"He wants to be in your lap, being petted, belly rubs!"

Veterinarians discovered that his front leg had been injured but they don't know how.

"He definitely had some type of forceful trauma to this area, be it a vehicle, a kick, it's just hard to say," said Lee.

Employees at the animal hospital say he'll get along just fine with only three legs. The most important thing, is that once he's done with the operation, he'll need a good home.

"He seems thankful already for what little has been done for him. And I think that once we get him healed and recovered from surgery he's going to make a great pet for someone, " said Lee.
