ATLANTA, Ga. -

Atlanta Police are searching for a man who abducted a child in SW Atlanta on Monday night.

According to authorities, the child was cleaning out his pet's cage when he went outside to "retrieve a tool" and disappeared from his home on Fairburn Road.

Authorities were called to the home around 9 p.m. and a search ensured. The child's guardian recieved a call from the child around 10:30 p.m. saying that he had been forced into a vehicle and driven to East Point, where he was dropped off.

Police say the child wasn't harmed in this incident. Authorities say the abductor was driving a grey four door Honda Civic, at the time of the abduction. He is described as a "medium complexion black male with medium lengthdreads.

The child says the man appeared to be in his 20's and was wearing "khaki shorts and a white t-shirt with a Nikelogo." He also had an unidentified tattoo on one of his biceps.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call Crime Stoppers. The information can be submitted anonymously to the Crime Stoppers Atlanta tip line at 404-577-TIPS.
