An Iraqi man facing state charges after authorities say he detonated a homemade explosive device outside a Social Security building in Arizona has been sentenced to five years in federal prison for felony weapons possession.

CASA GRANDE, Ariz. (AP) - A lawyer for an Iraqi man charged in a killing and a bombing is asking a Pinal County Superior Court judge to allow his client to participate in court proceedings by closed-circuit television from jail rather than be in the courtroom.

The Casa Grande Dispatch reports that defense attorney Richard Gierloff submitted his request to Judge Joseph R. Georgini, who has ordered that Abdullatif Aldosary wear a covering during court proceedings to keep him from spitting.

Aldosary has pleaded not guilty in the Nov. 27, 2012 shooting death of Casa Grande resident Orlando Requena at Arizona Grain in Maricopa. He also is charged in the Nov. 30, 2012 explosion of a homemade bomb at the Social Security office in Casa Grande.
