Damage, power outages after Saturday storms

Posted: Updated:
LAKE ORION, Mich. (WJBK) - Hail, wind, lightning and rain resulted in damage and downed power lines Saturday in parts of southeast Michigan. Clarkston, Macomb, Chesterfield and New Baltimore are some of the hardest hit areas. In Lake Orion, police were flooded with emergency calls after wires came down on top of cars and buildings. We're told about 40 people were trapped inside Buffalo Wild Wings after power lines fell in the parking lot. Emergency crews were on the scene late Saturday night.

DTE energy says there are roughly 62,000 customers without power following the storms. Crews are out working to repair the problems. We saw power poles and lines down, some on top of vehicles. As far as we know, no injuries are reported from the storms. The Weather Authority says there is the potential for more severe weather Sunday into Monday.
