Air Canada to fire handlers caught tossing luggage from platform

Posted: Updated:
(WJBK) -- Online video of two Air Canada baggage handlers dropping passengers' bags off a 20-foot boarding platform will cost them their jobs.

"The employees involved have been advised that their employment will be terminated pending the outcome of our investigation," Air Canada spokeswoman Angela Mah said to The Toronto Star.

The video was captured April 17 by passenger Dwayne Stewart, who was waiting to fly home to Vancouver from Toronto's Pearson International Airport.

"You wouldn't want to walk down the stairs," says Stewart as one of the workers drops large bags into a bin below. "That would suck."

The video has been viewed over 1.5 million times on YouTube.
