Trending Photo Shows Unflattering Map of the United States

Posted: Updated:

A new trending photo on social media shows an unflattering map of the United States as labeled by British people.

BuzzFeed asked its UK office to weigh-in on stereotypes they had of every state in the USA.

In the northeast section of the map, Pennsylvania stereotypes include “Amish,” “farms,” “Rocky” and the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme song opening line “In West Philadelphia, born and raised.”

“Mob Bosses, Jon Bon Jovi, Fake Tans, and Springsteen,” make up the New Jersey stereotypes.

California is labeled with "stoners" and "failed actors." Texas is labeled “guns and oil.

Written right in the middle of the country is "literally nobody ever goes here."

The map has been viewed by more than 1.7 million people on the website.

The map is a response to the USA’s interpretation of UK stereotypes.
