DETROIT (WJBK) -- A 3-year-old Detroit boy who had a heart transplant is having his wish granted.

Tyren Johnson says he loves fire trucks and wants to be a firefighter when he grows up.

Thanks to Make-A-Wish Michigan and the Detroit fire department, he gets to become one before he grows up. Click the video player to watch Tyren arrive on the job.

Tyren's day started Tuesday morning with a fire truck ride and a hero's welcome at Engine 54.

Make-A-Wish Michigan grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions, and being a firefighter for a day is Tyren's wish.
