NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) - Belle Knox, the Duke University porn star who made headlines when she was outed by fellow students, is inspiring other co-eds to use their bodies to make a quick buck to pay for tuition.

NY Post reporter Dana Schuster interviewed many of the women working at the Show Palace, an all-nude strip club in Queens where Knox is expected to perform, about an influx in applicants.

Among the women working there is Amanda Pena. The 18-year-old criminal justice major at the Borough of Manhattan Community College started stripping last month.

“I like it a lot. I enjoy what I do. I read about her online On a great weekend I can probably make up to $1500," said Pena who was inspired by Knox.

Pena, however, says she is not considering pornography.

“As soon as I get my degree… I’ll totally drop dancing,” said Pena.

While there is a big difference between porn and stripping, Schuster said the draw is fast money.

“The bigger risk is taking a 40-hour hour a week job and not have the time to get the grades they need to keep their financial aid. One girl I interviewed said that Baruch took away her aid because her grades had slipped .. she heard about this opening and figured she can make a lot more money in a lot less time,” said Schuster.

“Show Palace -we’re like huge family. It’s a pretty big club. We all have good communication. Customers know their boundaries because of the bouncers,” said Pena who goes by the name 'Egypt.'

Her real family knows about her side job and while they're proud of why she's doing it-- to afford a college education which at BMCC is $6K per year-- they're only lukewarm to the idea.

"My family believe it or not took me stripping not so great at first but now they’re taking it lightly,” said Pena.

The teen from East Harlem hopes to open a business some day where she can help inner city children.
