The Chicago hot dog and Italian beef institution Portillo's could be getting a new owner.
Fast-casual restaurants are hot these days with investors, so Portillo's is now exploring its financial options -- including a sale.
Portillo’s Restaurant Group, which is based in Oak Brook, has hired an investment bank to help out with the process.
It calls itself the largest privately owned restaurant company in the Midwest.
The company says last year it had more than $300 million in sales.
