22 Residents Evacuated During Center City Apartment Fire

Residents were evacuated just before an explosion inside a Center City apartment building Thursday morning.

Just prior to the explosion, 22 people inside the apartment building on the 2300 block of Naudain Street were evacuated when they complained of feeling sick and dizzy.

Shortly after the evacuation, the explosion happened.

High levels of carbon monoxide were detected at the scene.

One person was taken to the hospital.

Crews were able to save half the building, but it's unclear how soon residents will be able to return home.
