It was an unforgettable night for autistic students in Florida. Miami-Dade Public Schools hosted its Fourth Annual Prom night for students from fifteen different area schools who have Autism Spectrum Disorder.
The students participated in the total prom experience by dressing in tuxedos and formal dresses, taking a prom picture, dancing to music provided by a professional disc jockey, and crowning a king and a queen. Some students even arrived in a limousine!
The prom was free for participating students with ASD, thanks to the generosity of community agencies, educational partners, and local/national businesses that have provided funding to support this memorable event.
