NYC Transit Agency: Subway Train Derails In Queens

Posted: Updated:

Rescue operations are under way in Queens after a subway derailed underground.

Emergency crews flooded the intersection of 65th and Broadway on Friday morning.

Officials say a Brooklyn-bound "F" train jumped the tracks in the tunnel shortly before 11 a.m. The train was carrying about a thousand passengers at the time.

Heavy smoke was also seen coming from the train.

Fire crews are going down into the tunnel to bring up passengers. Video shows emergency responders walking some of them over to nearby stretchers to receive oxygen.

There's no word on any injuries.

New York City police and the MTA are both investigating the accident.
