Teacher Arrested After Alleged Bomb Threat

An Illinois high school teacher is behind bars accused of threatening to blow up her school!

Illinois State Police say 36-year-old Michelle L. Smith of Jerseyville is charged in Calhoun County with falsely making a terrorist threat.

Authorities say Smith left a typed letter in a Calhoun County High School bathroom last Monday. The indicated a bomb had been placed in the Hardin School.

The school was quickly evacuated and no explosive device was found.

Smith was arrested the next day.

She is being held on $500,000 bond.
