Posted: Updated:
Matthew Barr, 39, a former soccer coach, is faces some serious allegations which include the sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl.

According to the criminal complaint, Barr took the girl, who is a family friend, to Milwaukee to meet his children “over her spring break.”

On April 22nd, the complaint states Barr and the girl were at the Comfort Suites near 13th and College on Milwaukee’s south side.

At the hotel, Barr asked the young girl to get into bed with him which allegedly led to a sexual assault. The complaint says the girl tried to scream but Barr blocked her face with a pillow.

After the trip the girl’s mother found a text message on her daughter’s cell phone that said “I need a naughty picture of you tonight.”

The 14 year old said she didn’t report Barr because “she felt it was her fault” and that she “could just keep it a secret.”

The allegations have cost Barr his position as a coach with the Croatian Eagles Soccer Club.

Barr is charged first-degree sexual assault of a child and strangulation/ suffocation.

Barr is also not allowed to have contact with anyone under the age of 17-years-old without supervision.. If convicted, Barr faces up to 60 years in prison.
