Bomb squad investigated suspicious item found at business

DETROIT (WJBK) - The Detroit Police Department Bomb Squad was called to a business on Detroit's east side after reports a pipe bomb was found.

The device is said to have been found at a business called Green Works, which is on Lynch Road near Van Dyke Avenue.

We're told an employee found the device inside of a box.

Just after 6 p.m. a bomb technician set up a devise to diffuse the situation. A few minutes later, the technician picked up the device and carried it away.

SkyFOX is over the scene Monday evening, where two bomb squad vehicles and multiple fire engines were seen.
