Off-Duty Police Officer Is Victim Of Fatal Cement Truck Accident In Beverly Hills

Posted: Updated:
A cement mixing truck has struck a vehicle Friday afternoon, killing an off-duty police officer on Loma Vista Drive in Beverly Hills. The crash location is along the same hilly stretch of road where an out of control dump truck collided with a Los Angeles police cruiser a few weeks ago, killing another officer.

It appears the cement truck ran over a pickup truck, killing at least one person in that vehicle. Beverly Hills Fire Department did transport one person to the hospital, which is believed to be the driver of the cement truck.

This will most likely be a lengthy investigation, since this is the third accident in recent weeks involving heavy trucks in this same exact location.

The crash comes a week after another cement truck slammed into several parked cars on the same winding street, injuring that driver.

And it's the same block where a truck hauling a trash container struck an LAPD patrol car on March 7, killing Officer Nicholas Lee and injuring another officer.
